YEONGDONG, Aug. 31 (Korea Bizwire) – A grape festival held in Yeongdong, North Chungcheong Province, was packed with a crowd with no place to put one’s feet. Held from August 27 to 30, the Yeongdong Grape Festival attracted visitors with various activities related to grapes, such as grape picking, grape stomping, grape fishing, grape rolling, wine foot bath and wine making. Yeongdong is the largest producer of grapes in Korea, and its grapes are well-known for their sweet and fresh flavor.
Every year, in celebration of its top crop, Yeongdong hosts a festival where visitors pick grapes in a vineyard or fish them out of a pool, before using them to make different types of food, such as wine, chocolate and dry persimmon. In addition, visitors can buy fresh grapes at a 10 percent discounted price compared to wholesale markets.
