SEOUL, Jan. 7 (Korea Bizwire) – Marketing Insight, a Korean vehicle research company, conducted a survey on 5,416 male and female drivers about social perceptions of women’s driving. Among the respondents, 76 percent agreed that men generally think women are bad drivers, while 72 percent thought that a relative lack of experience, compared to male drivers, is what makes some women bad drivers.
Male and female respondents disagreed on why men generally have such a bad impression about women drivers. A strong 79 percent of male respondents agreed that women do not recognize their driving errors, and 77 percent thought that women are clumsy parkers.
On the other hand, 85 percent of female respondents thought that male drivers are just eager to highlight the faults of female drivers, while 84 percent thought that men have negative thoughts about women driving, and 76 percent also agreed that men drive aggressively around women drivers.
However, only 35 percent of male respondents agreed that male drivers are eager to find the faults of women drivers, and only 42 percent of male respondents said that men drive aggressively around women drivers.
Among female respondents, 55 percent agreed that women drivers do not recognize their wrongdoings, and 43 percent of female respondents also agreed that women drivers are very distinct on the road in a bad way. However, only 17 percent of females agreed that women drivers do not consider the regards of other drivers on the road while 46 percent of male respondents agreed.
Both male and female respondents, however, agreed that women are clumsy parkers, with 70 percent of respondents agreeing that women drivers have a hard time parking.
