SEOUL, Feb. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — A number of innovative curators across Korea are turning shipping containers into art galleries.
At the recently opened Dalha Gallery, the front side of a shipping container has been turned into a show window.
To promote culture in the local community, the container gallery was set up to allow visitors to enjoy various artworks from the Jeongeup Museum of Art or those created by local artists.
The gallery is catering to demand for contactless experiences in the pandemic era. Visitors can enjoy the artworks only through the show windows.
The Yangpyeong Art Museum in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province set up the Container Art Lab in 2020, built with three shipping containers, complete with both constant temperature and humidity features.
The Container Art Lab plans to hold a series of art exhibitions to showcase various artworks created by local artists.
