GWANGMYEONG, Aug. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Over 3 million people have visited Gwangmyeong Cave in Gyeonggi Province in the 28 months since the venue was first commercialized, making it one of the most famous tourist attractions in the region.

According to data released on Wednesday by the Gyeonggi provincial government, nearly 3.2 million tourists have visited the cave so far, with the figure for this year alone estimated to be 842,700.

During the National Liberation Day of Korea holiday, the attraction drew 59,800 visitors.

In the wine-themed cave, where over 170 different types of Korean wine are sold, more than 105,200 bottles have been purchased since the venue opened, for an aggregate total of 2.1 billion won in sales, according to government officials.
