PYEONGCHANG, Korea, Jan. 9 (Korea Bizwire) – From January 9 to 18, the Daegwallyeong Snow Festival will be held at Daegwallyeong in Pyeongchang. With a theme entitled “Dream of Snow Land: Hoping For a Successful 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics,” the festival will showcase various snow-related sculptures in one of Korea’s winter wonderlands.
The snow sculptures include a statue of Admiral Yi Sun-shin, a piping boy, a rubber duck and a dragon. Together with ice sculptures such as a large-sized Gwanghwamun made of 500 ice chunks, ice castles and igloos, the festival offers eye-catching sculptures and events on the snow-covered hills of Daegwallyeong.
