SEOUL, Oct. 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Authorities are launching a variety of new businesses for the benefit of the nation’s citizens. At Incheon International Airport, the departure process is set to be automated, allowing visitors to check in by themselves. In another example, information on over one million theses that were published in academic journals will be provided to the public through Open-API protocols.
The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs decided to push forward 185 tasks that are closely related to the everyday lives of citizens as its ‘Government 3.0 Priority Projects’.
Firstly, Incheon Airport now allows travelers to select their seats, get their tickets and check their luggage by themselves through automated systems. Officials plan to expand the automated services until all of the departure procedures of can be carried out by travelers themselves.
The Small Enterprise and Market Service will start a ‘Matching Service for Small Enterprises’. The program will provide valuable information about establishing and operating a business.
The Korea Communications Agency will provide a ‘One-Stop’ service to fishermen who previously had to go to five different organizations to register their radio communication equipment required for the safe operation of their vessels.
The National Research Foundation of Korea will provide more than one million papers from 2,157 journals on all fields through Open-API processes. Open-API processes ‘open’ data in a certain form to the public, so that unspecified individuals can easily use or develop the information that is provided.
The committee will hold a plenary session to verify the process every quarter, and a separate monthly meeting to discuss the progress of different tasks by subcommittee.
