BUSAN, Dec.16 (Korea Bizwire) – The ‘One Stop Happiness Basket Center’, where citizens can file paperwork related to marriage and children all at once, has opened at the Geumjeong Community Health Center in Busan.
The plan to manage the center won first place at the ‘Government 3.0 Life Cycle Service’ contest. In only one visit, marriage registration, birth registration, and applying for home care allowance and maternity aid can be completed.
Before, citizens had to go to at least four different organizations such as the local government office, bank, and Health Insurance Corporation to conduct their civil business. Maternity aid differs depending on local governments, and individuals had to gather information by themselves to get support.
Mother to be Ji Da-young (32) visited the center and commented that the new service made things much more convenient. “I had to register my first and second child’s birth at the Gu (district) office, and had to apply for home care allowance at the community service center. But this time I can do everything at one place, it’s so convenient.”
As a winning prize, Geumjeong-gu was offered financial support of 150 million won.
The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs plans to operate similar centers in collaboration with four different local governments including Geumjeong-gu as a test run, and expand the service to all areas in the first half of 2016.
