SUWON, Jan. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — People will be able to circumnavigate Gyeonggi Province, the province that surrounds Seoul, on foot or by bicycle in 2020, the provincial government said Wednesday.
To that end, the province said it will create a 700-kilometer outer ring walking trail by linking various disconnected trails. At present, the province operates 64 trails in its 34 cities and counties.
The province will also build a cycle path loop by making use of the existing 4,866 kilometers of bike track on 4,710 courses.
All the bike routes can be connected once the 26.3-kilometer Yongin-Yeoju and 9.7-kilometer Yeoncheon-Dongducheon lanes are newly built, the province said.
“We plan to develop the conceived belt trail and cycle path into our leading tourist attractions,” a provincial official said.
