SEOUL, May 26 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics looks to continue the success of its best-selling drum washing machine in the overseas market. Starting from this month, the home appliance company will launch the “Comangs” lines in Taiwan, a highly popular drum wash machine which has been released in Korea in April last year and in China early this year.
As part of its promotional effort, the company hosted an event for the washer in the “ATT 4FUN” shopping mall square on May 23, located in one of the busiest streets in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan.
The event included a fun competition for kids to tell wash machines by their types and various events held on the 17th minute of every hour, as well as hosting Taiwan’s favorite actress “Sonia Sui.”
The mini-sized washing machine with the laundry-holding capacity of 3.5 kg reduces 19 minutes of the washing time to only 17 minutes and also significantly saves electric power, compared to the existing larger-sized drum machines in the market.
The adaptation of the “Direct Drive” motor, which is LG’s proprietary technology, is another thing that makes the washing machine to be special, which enables the washer to be versatile depending on the laundry types with eight different washing courses and six different motion technologies including kneading, rubbing, stretching, squeezing and shaking.
With its small and quick laundry machine, LG has targeted to meet the second laundry machine demands and the demand of single-person households domestically and has been making efforts to do the same in overseas as well.
An official in LG’s home appliances division said, “The mini-drum wash machine, “Comangs,” have gained ground in overseas markets with extensive pre-market research. The success experience in Korea and marketing strategies customized to meet local needs will make Comangsa popular item among foreign consumers.”
