HONGSEONG, Aug. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — South Chungcheong Province has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI)-based ‘unmanned thermometer system’, which will be set up at Boryeong’s Daecheon Beach this month.
With this system, visitors can have their body temperature measured without having to leave their car, preventing unnecessary physical contact with quarantine staff, prior to entering the beach.
Approaching the system in their own cars, drivers can lower their windows to have the thermal imagers placed on both sides of the road measure the body temperatures of all passengers automatically, using AI-based facial recognition technology.
Passengers with a body temperature below 37.5 degrees Celsius can pass the screening area after receiving an authorized wristband from local staff. Those with a temperature over 37.5 degrees are asked to visit a local COVID-19 screening center.
