SEOUL, Oct. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s leading food delivery app Baedal Minjok, or Baemin for short, said Sunday it began services for single-member households to meet their growing demands.
If they order food through Baemin services, consumers now can order food worth less than 10,000 won (US$8.80) for one person, the company said in a statement.
Previously, single-member families were required to order meals worth over 10,000 won to 20,000 won at least for two people in order to qualify for the delivery services, it said.
Two smaller rivals, Yogiyo and Baedaltong, have already adopted the delivery services for single-member households. Baemin accounts for 50 percent of the country’s food delivery services market, with the two apps sharing the remainder.
