Seoul to Host Global Influencer Expo, Showcasing City’s Cultural Appeal

SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul Business Agency announced on October 14 that it will host 2024 SEOULCon, a global influencer expo, from December 28 to January 1 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). 

Now in its second year, the event will feature 3,500 influencers participating in 17 sessions and 25 programs, aiming to showcase Seoul’s charm to a worldwide audience.

SEOULCon focuses on the impact of influencers, with participants boasting millions of followers sharing their expo experiences globally and promoting Seoul’s attractions.

This year introduces a new Influencer×Company Matching Program, connecting influencers with Seoul’s small and medium-sized enterprises. The initiative aims to boost product awareness and expand market opportunities for businesses while providing influencers with diverse content material.

The expo will also feature an Influencer Stadium event in collaboration with creator platforms. 

Various programs will highlight Seoul’s lifestyle, covering fashion, content creation, gaming, beauty, and K-pop. 

On the opening day, December 28, the SBA and the Korea Entertainment Management Association will co-host the 2024 SEOULCon APAN Star Awards. This integrated drama awards ceremony will recognize content from all Korean channels, including terrestrial, cable, online video services, and web dramas. 

December 29 will see the LCK Awards, the year-end ceremony for Korea’s professional e-sports league, League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK).

A Fashion Culture Convention: Platform event on December 28 and 29 will showcase new product lineups and limited-edition merchandise from domestic and international street brands. On December 30, the K-Beauty Boost event will bring together global influencers and leading K-beauty companies.

The expo will culminate on December 31 with the World K-pop Festival – Countdown, featuring performances by top K-pop artists and a New Year’s countdown. 

Kim Hyun-woo, CEO of the Seoul Business Association, emphasized SEOULCon’s significance, stating, “SEOULCon plays a crucial role in establishing Seoul as a global K-culture hub. This year’s event will once again spread Seoul’s charm worldwide and create meaningful economic value.”
