SEOUL, Dec.7 (Korea Bizwire) – SK Telecom announced that it will be launching a special plan for soldiers called ‘Thank you for protecting us’.
Any soldier who signs up for the plan can enjoy unlimited calls and data for 2,000 won a day when they are on leave.
In addition, 1,000 points, representing half of the payment for a day, are saved so that soldiers can use them to buy a new phone or pay for their phone bill after they retire from the military.
Considering the benefits, SK Telecom explains that the plan allows one to use unlimited calls and data for 1,000 won per day.
SK Telecom is anticipating that the new plan will provide more convenient service to soldiers.
Currently, most soldiers stop their phone plans when they enter the military, and temporarily reactivate them to use their phones when they are on leave. In these cases, the cost is calculated per day based on the phone plan the user originally had.
SK Telecom will also provide extra data to those who have retired from the military. For new subscribers at SK Telecom who are within six months of retirement or changing devices, an additional 50MB to 1GB of data can be used. The service will be offered to those who register retirement certificates at SK Telecom agencies across the nation.
