SEJONG, Jun. 14 (Korea Bizwire) – The Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation (KIND) announced on June 13 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Polish Export Credit Agency (KUKE) to cooperate on Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts.
The agreement, signed in Berlin, Germany, on June 11, will enable South Korean companies with legal entities in Poland to access war risk insurance provided by KUKE, thereby safeguarding their investments as they seek to enter the Ukrainian market.
KUKE, Poland’s official export credit agency, offers war risk insurance to foreign companies on par with domestic firms, contingent upon the establishment of a legal entity within the country.
Under the new partnership, KIND and KUKE will share financial and business information related to ventures in Ukraine and third countries. Additionally, they plan to jointly develop projects, including the provision of war risk insurance products.
“By introducing war risk insurance products through our partnership with KUKE, we aim to support South Korean companies seeking to leverage the reconstruction boom in Ukraine by establishing a foothold in Poland,” said Lee Kang-hoon, president of KIND.
