SEOUL, Jan. 6 (Korea Bizwire)A new weather app is going viral among North Koreans.

Meari, a North Korean propaganda outlet, recently introduced Nalssi (means ‘weather’ in Korean), a weather app used on smartphones and other handheld devices that delivers various weather information every 15 minutes.

The app not only offers short and long-term weather forecasts for major locations, but also the change in temperature in each region organized by date, amount of precipitation, percentage of sunshine, soil temperature, and other detailed weather information.

North Korea also introduced other apps designed specifically for agricultural and maritime purposes.

These applications, however, are not available on Google Play or other open app stores. Users must access Kwangmyong, the North Korean national intranet service, to download these apps.
