SEOUL, May 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Statistics Korea launched a web site devoted to COVID-19 on Wednesday, offering statistical data related to the pandemic to domestic and international users.
The statistics agency has been responding individually on various data requests related to COVID-19 coming from statistical offices in Italy, Mexico, and the Netherlands, as well as major international organizations.
However, with a flood of requests from the international community, and as a member of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the agency has decided to create a webpage to offer information in a more organized manner.
The site consists of information on operating organizations, particularly during emergency situations, investigative instructions tailored for various situations, and major statistical data related to COVID-19, such as employment rate and prices during the pandemic situation.
The site is offered in both Korean and English (www.kostat.go.kr/eng), and is linked to the UNSD website.
