SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — SK Global Chemical Co., a chemical affiliate of South Korea’s energy giant SK Innovation Co., has teamed up with a logistics company to accelerate its environmental, social and governance (ESG) management by establishing a virtuous cycle system for the reduction of logistics waste.
The company announced on Monday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LogisALL Consulting and Engineering Co., a specialist in the leasing of logistics pallets and containers, to establish a virtuous cycle system for the recycling of waste pallets.
Under terms of the MOU, the two parties will strive to reduce waste generated during the logistics process of packaging and delivery, as well as to establish a virtuous cycle of resource recycling.
In detail, they will develop eco-friendly plastic materials, while promoting the reuse of logistics waste made of plastics and increasing the use of eco-friendly plastic materials.
LogisALL plans to replace more than 10 percent of the plastic containers used by the nation’s parcel delivery industry with eco-friendly ones by the year 2025.
