JEJU, Jan. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — Agricultural products from Jeju Island are being exported to the United Arab Emirates.
The Jeju Business Agency said Thursday that it had recently exported US$15,000 worth of Hallabong citrus, Red Hyang tangerines and other processed foods to the UAE.
Made-in-Jeju products that are being exported will be merchandised at a UAE exhibition and promotional market for Jeju products, set up jointly by the province and the agency, for local sale.
1004 Gourmet, a Korean supermarket in the UAE, will be in charge of imports and distribution in the country.
It currently runs Jeju promotional stands at two locations in Dubai and one location in Abu Dhabi.
So far, the UAE has imported $132,000 worth of livestock goods, cosmetics and agricultural products from Jeju, according to the agency.
