SEOUL, Mar. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — Animal-masked individuals cloaked in yellow sacks occupied streets near Hongdae Station in Seoul on March 1, campaigning for the conscious and moderate consumption of farmed animals.
Activists from the Korea Association for Animal Protection (KAAP) dressed themselves in chicken and duck costumes and then covered themselves with sacks, in order to share the terrible image of current fowl culling practices, which are the result of efforts to prevent the further spread of AI and foot-and-mouth disease among Korean farms.
The KAAP members are calling for lower poultry consumption, in an effort to contribute to decreasing the size of mass poultry farms, and preventing the mass culling of animals.
