SEOUL, Aug. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — The popular e-commerce company Coupang announced yesterday that it was initiating “Coupang Flex,” which will provide new jobs for those looking to perform deliveries for the company.
“Coupang Flex” will allow applicants to freely select work dates that fit their personal schedule.
Coupang explained this would enable applicants like homemakers, college students and freelancers to earn extra income by working according to a schedule that best suits them.
Under “Coupang Flex,” two types of tasks are available for applicants. The first job requires workers to pick up parcels at nearby local distribution hubs with their own car, and to deliver them to customers’ homes.
If applicants prefer not to drive, the second task would see applicants picking up delivery products from Coupang trucks within their apartment complex and deliver them to customers using a rolltainer.
The jobs are open to anyone over the age of 18 regardless of gender, education, or experience. Hired applicants will deliver 50 to 60 products during working hours, around 3 to 4 hours a day.
Workers will be asked to report to work at 10 a.m. and can get off work after performing their deliveries.
The “Coupang Flex” system comes just after Coupang’s announcement of its plan to hire 1,000 delivery workers within the year, which industry experts say is an indication that the company urgently needs extra manpower to execute all of its deliveries.
