SEOUL, July 3 (Korea Bizwire) – A delivery drone was seen hovering over the Seoul Medical Center building in Jungnang-gu, Seoul on Wednesday, where medical and nursing staff have been treating COVID-19 patients around the clock.
The drone had a mission: to deliver Baskin Robbins ice cream to the health care workers in the isolation wards, who are not supposed to be in contact with people outside the wards.
The delivery event was the brainchild idea of the SPC Group, the operator of Baskin Robbins and owner of many well-known franchises including the bakery franchise Paris Baguette and Caffe Pascucci.
The group said it donated 2,000 ice cream bars and 30 ice cream cakes to medical staff and patients, and the “ice cream party” was held during lunch time. However, as staff at the isolation wards were not able to join in the party, the delivery drone had a special mission for the day.
