Daejeon to Deploy AI Quarantine Robots in Subway Stations

DAEJEON, Aug. 26 (Korea Bizwire)The city government of Daejeon said Thursday that it will begin trials of an artificial intelligence (AI) quarantine robot to eliminate viruses, purify the air, and clean the floors in subway stations.

The city plans to first deploy two robots each at two subway stations, before deploying a total of 10 robots at five stations as well as the city hall lobby by early next month.

The robots will roam around buildings for the next six months using the plasma method to eradicate 99.9 percent of viruses and purify the air and use UV lights to sterilize the floors.

The robots come with a camera and a sensor that prevents them from running into people.

The robots can also display the current air quality through an LED bar.
