SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — In Cuba, a country that has yet to establish diplomatic relations with South Korea, local youth participated in the country’s first Korean speaking contest to talk about their dreams.
Hosted by My Dream International Foundation, the contest took place at a local Korean cultural center in Havana last week.
The contest invited 10 finalists who passed the manuscript review on Sept. 16 and the preliminary rounds on Sept. 23.
“It is my dream to learn the Korean language and set up a Korean language school,” said one of the finalists, who had learned Korean on their own.
“My other dream is to become a biochemist and make contributions to humanity.”
Another finalist had plans to graduate from a university in Cuba, acquire a master’s degree in Korean studies in South Korea and become a Korean language instructor.
