SEOUL, July 4 (Korea Bizwire) – The first Five Guys restaurant in Korea achieved tremendous success, selling 15,000 hamburgers in just one week since its June 26 opening.
With an average of 2,000 burgers sold daily and over 200 per hour, it ranked fourth globally in sales among Five Guys stores, attracting customers from various regions, including Japan.
The “Open Runs” phenomenon swept across the country, encompassing Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Daegu, and Busan, as people flocked to experience the inaugural Five Guys establishment in Korea.
The allure was so strong that customers went to great lengths, including crossing the ocean from Japan, just to savor the popular burgers. As of now, Japan still doesn’t have any Five Guys stores.
The Bacon Cheeseburger topped the popularity charts, and to improve convenience, Five Guys now accepts reservations through an online application. FG Korea, a subsidiary of Hanwha Galleria, operates Five Guys in South Korea.
