SEOUL, April 6 (Korea Bizwire) — Starting from Tuesday, the government will release through its exclusive website the big data that it has accumulated for many years through the official cattle traceability system.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs implemented the cattle traceability system in December 2008. Under this system, the ministry has tracked and managed the slaughter and distribution of livestock, while managing cattle raised on farms.
The ministry expects the newly-released cattle traceability information to be used for various analyses at private research institutes, universities and businesses.
The yearly information on the state of cattle breeding, birth, death, slaughter etc. can be used not only for farm consulting through the prediction of the change in the number of cattle, but also for the establishment of management strategy for related industries.
