SEOUL, March 12 (Korea Bizwire) — As hiring during the traditional spring recruiting season has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, employers are introducing ‘untact’ means of selecting new recruits such as video interviews.
SK Innovation Co., a major energy and chemical company in South Korea, announced on Wednesday that it will start its selection process by conducting video interviews, where applicants meet with interviewers through a conference call from their computer.
LG Electronics Inc. is also using video calls for the first round of interviews for applicants with prior experience.
Online platforms such as YouTube are being used by companies to send out information on the recruiting process as the coronavirus continues to spread.
Major conglomerates are also actively distributing recruiting notices through YouTube channels.
