SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — Thousands of children took part in a marathon on Sunday hosted by the international charity organization Save the Children to raise funds for children suffering from malnourishment and illness in disadvantaged parts of the world.
The marathon saw a total of over 2,800 children and their parents participate in the 4.2195-kilometer race, one-tenth of a full marathon, which was held at World Cup Park in Seoul.
The marathon had children running alongside their parents, holding hands, or with their friends. Fathers pushing baby carriages were also an interesting sight to witness.
Regardless of age or gender, the participants were united in the single goal of helping children from all over the globe. Proceeds from the entry fees will be spent on projects to help young children all over the world.
