SEOUL, March 22 (Korea Bizwire) — A multitude of ‘clean water-appreciating’ events took place around Korea in celebration of the upcoming UN-designated World Water Day on March 22. The city of Ulsan prepared an event in which clay EM (Effective Microorganism) balls, designed to purify water, were thrown into the city’s river on March 20.
Busan’s Korea Sobija, a woman consumers’ association, and the Busan Water Authority held a campaign for wise and modest consumption of water, with 100 individuals from the both organizations participating in a street performance, their faces adorned with masks shaped like water drops.
Across the nation, 689 governmental and private organizations held clean water-related events such as seminars, conventions and experience-based workshops.
