INCHEON, Nov. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — The largest ‘blood donation house’ in the region has opened in Songdo International City, Incheon, welcome news when the coronavirus pandemic is leaving blood supplies dangerously low.
The Songdo Center, the fifth blood donation facility in the city, sits on the fifth floor of Triple Street D-dong, Songdo-dong, Yeonsu District, said the Incheon Blood Center, which operates under the Korean Red Cross, on Wednesday.
Measuring 356 square meters, the new center is equipped with more advanced blood collecting items including nine blood donation beds and four plasma-based blood collectors, allowing up to nine people to donate blood at the same time.
The center is located in Triple Street, a large shopping mall, and for good reason. A crowded shopping center where lots of people come and go frequently is a perfect place to increase the chances of securing more potential blood donors.
Teaming up with many outlets in the shopping mall, the Incheon Blood Center is going to promote an event in which voluntary blood donors will be offered various incentives such as discount coupons.
