SEOUL, Apr. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — The leaders of the North and South Korea will meet at the Peace House in Panmunjom, a historic location on the border where previous leaders agreed to pause the Korean War.
South Korean president Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will sit at a table that is 2018 millimeters in width for the third inter-Korean summit, which will be the first in 11 years.
The width signals the year 2018, which could serve as a historical turning point in ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula if the parties involved reach breakthroughs in the scheduled peace talks.
The dark wood table has two legs that connect at the bottom in a nod to the significance of the summit between the South and the North.
The meeting room itself is decorated with peace-themed Korean ornaments that add to the friendly atmosphere.
