SEOUL, April 5 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. on Tuesday announced the launch of a new global afforestation initiative.
LG’s Indonesian branch partnered with Jakarta’s Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) last year to plant trees in Jakarta and two other cities.
As of late last month, the tech firm’s had planted some 19,000 trees. On Earth Day, April 22, the company will plant 13,000 more trees in the Samarinda region.
LG’s Iberian branch that covers Spain and Portugal, too, has been accelerating tree-planting initiatives across Spain since 2018.
LG’s Indonesian branch will incorporate a special method to expedite the process of creating a forest in the Greater Noida region by planting some 12,000 trees.
In South Korea, 96 volunteers from the company will grow plants at each of their homes for 100 days, and create a forest in Noeul Park in Seoul’s Mapo District.
