SEOUL, April 22 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Display Co., a major display panel maker in South Korea, and U.S. entertainment conglomerate Walt Disney Co. have teamed up to promote LG’s OLED TVs.
The two companies announced Thursday that they will begin a joint promotion of LG’s OLED TVs as Disney+, the flagship streaming service of Walt Disney, releases “The Book of Boba Fett,” a series from the Star Wars franchise.
Lucasfilm Ltd. used LG OLED TVs for its production and LG Display unveiled a YouTube video on how the televisions were used during the production.
Disney subsidiaries like Marvel, Pixar and Lucasfilm have been expanding their use of OLED TVs for video editing.
LG Display, jointly with Lucasfilm subsidiary Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), will produce a 30-second video dedicated to the promotion of OLED-screen televisions starring the main cast of the new series, which will be displayed in New York’s Times Square until May 20.
