There are currently 20,000 regularly employed personnel and 4 million workers per year building the massive project, which requires high precision engineering. Here are some interesting facts about the skyscraper:
- Lotte World Tower is designed to stand a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 128m/s. The maximum wind speed of Hurricane Katrina was recorded at 90m/s.
- The skyscraper has a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver installed on the top of the building to continuously monitor even the slightest movement or tilt.
- The foundation work for Lotte World Tower required 2.5 times the amount of concrete used in the foundation of the 829.8-meter-tall Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
