SEOUL, Dec. 30 (Korea Bizwire) — The South Korean military deployed fighter jets in recent days in response to radar sightings of unidentified objects wrongly assumed to be drones from North Korea.
On Wednesday morning, an unknown object was detected by radar, with the military scrambling fighter jets on standby to Incheon and northern Gyeonggi Province.
When the pilots arrived at the detected location, all they could find was a balloon and not North Korean drones.
The fighter jets took off with a sudden thunderous roar at night, resulting in numerous complaints from Incheon, Goyang and parts of Seoul.
The jets were also scrambled on the previous day when radar detected an unknown object in Ganghwa Island in Incheon, which turned out to be a flock of birds.
