SEOUL, May 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The National Fire Agency (NFA) carried out a successful tactical demonstration of a special fire hose bag developed by the South Chungcheong Province Fire Service Headquarters, capable of stretching as long as 600 meters.
The headquarters had already succeeded in using the bag to connect a 200-meter hose in April. This time, the length was tripled.
The new bag contains a 25-millimeter lightweight hose to minimize weight, instead of a more conventional 40-millimeter hose, while increasing the length from 15 meters to as long as 100 meters.
The new bag allows firefighters to spend less time connecting the hose to reach the destination, while minimizing the use of physical strength.
The NFA and the South Chungcheong Province Fire Service Headquarters expect that the new fire hose bags will help firefighters reach remote areas inaccessible by fire trucks.
