SEOUL, Nov. 1 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Tourism Organization launched Tuesday One More Trip (www.onemoretrip.net), an integrated platform connecting tourists with some of the most unique experiences in Seoul and its nearby cities.

According to officials, the new website will allow visitors to search for tourism and culture content that usually appeal to niche audiences but have been difficult to find for foreigners.

Some 80 products are currently available such as a K-Pop and K-Wave experience tour, and brewery and cooking classes for Korean cuisine. The site also provides general tourism information including airport pick-up services and tourist attractions.

The platform is open to tour agencies, startups, and all other businesses providing tourist content for promotion, and tourists can search and directly pay for the products on the website. Registering as businesses, however, does require evaluation and screening from the Seoul Tourism Organization.

So far, the service is offered in English and Chinese, and payment is available through PayPal, Alipay, and WeChat Pay, in addition to credit card transactions.

“Recent tourism trends are shifting from group tours to individual travel, hence the rising demand for more diversified, experience-based tourism products,” said a city official. “We developed the new platform to better serve such demands for Korea-visiting foreigners.”

The exposure of products is based on consumer ratings for quality control, the official added, with higher-rated content appearing at the top of the list.

The city plans to continue expanding and improving the system, including a GPS-based recommendation service, which will be added to its mobile platform in December.

“We expect the new platform to open doors for smaller enterprises with limited capital and marketing channels, while providing tourists with more unique tourism content.”
