SEOUL, March 16 (Korea Bizwire)The spread of COVID-19 has led to further social isolation with leisure activities including traveling, sports and others halving since the pre-pandemic era.

Statistics Korea reported Tuesday that the level of the country’s social isolation last year reached 34.1 percent, the highest since 2009.

The level of interpersonal trust in 2020, when the pandemic began to spread, plunged to 50.3 percent, the lowest since the survey was first established.

Quality of life deteriorated even further as social distancing policies led to fewer outdoor activities.

Each South Korean went on domestic travel for 5.81 days in 2020, nearly halving since the previous year.

The pandemic has also put a stop to various performances and sports matches, resulting in each South Korean watching them no more than 4.5 times last year.
