Seoul, Korea, August 13 (Korea Bizwire) – The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service will jointly promote their ‘Rainbow Bridge Project’ as part of their cultural diversity policy that aims for cohabitation among the different social and cultural actors living together in our society.
Different from other cultural diversity programs, the ‘Rainbow Bridge Project’ offers opportunities for newcomers such as immigrants from multiracial marriage, foreign guest workers, North Korean defectors, and local residents to share and exchange cultures with each other. As many as 12 different cultural foundations all around the country are currently offering more than 100 different programs.
More specifically, some cultural foundations are focusing on sharing various stories by publishing them in newsletters, while allowing new arrivals to communicate frankly with local residents through music programs with ‘Rainbow Bridge Podcasts.’
The Culture Ministry plans to spread the value of cultural diversity and ‘Convivencia’ throughout the whole society with the continued promotion of the Rainbow Bridge Project. Furthermore, local governments in charge of the programs will work to expand cooperation, and network with other organizations.
