SEOUL, Jul. 4 (Korea Bizwire) – Song Jai-hyuk, Chief Technology Officer of Samsung Electronics’ Device Solutions Division and president of Samsung’s Semiconductor Research Center, expressed optimism about the company’s future in the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry.

Speaking at the “Nano Korea 2024″ conference in Goyang on July 3, Song delivered a keynote address titled “Semiconductor Innovation for a Better Life,” where he highlighted Samsung’s unique position in the market.

“Samsung, with its expertise in DRAM, NAND, and logic technology, is well-positioned to seize good opportunities in the future,” Song stated. However, he also acknowledged the significant challenges facing the industry.

“Despite the preparation of innovative semiconductor technologies, the path forward for semiconductors appears extremely difficult,” he said. “The number and scope of technologies that global chip makers must handle are expanding to an overwhelming degree.”

Song emphasized Samsung’s ambition to become a comprehensive AI semiconductor solution provider in the era of artificial intelligence. He noted the explosive increase in computing performance driven by AI advancements.

“Collaboration with various partners is crucial, given the vast market and opportunities ahead that require extensive preparation,” Song added. “Samsung Electronics intends to be at the forefront of this wave.”

In a brief exchange with reporters following his speech, Song addressed the ongoing high-bandwidth memory (HBM) quality testing with NVIDIA. “We are working diligently,” he said, “and expect good results.”
