SEOUL, July 14 (Korea Bizwire) Just like the last summer, the camps along the banks of the Han River have been opened to the general public.

In order to encourage Seoul citizens to use the camps to keep themselves cool over the summer months, the Seoul Metropolitan City Government has made available a smartphone app called “Smart Seoul Map” to make it easy to find exact locations of the camps.

The app, launched last year with all the necessary camping information, has become more useful and fun this year with voice contents narrating the stories of four riverside camp sites (Nanji, Yoido, Banpo, and Ttukseom).

In addition, it can provide emergency information such as minute-by-minute water level during the time of summer monsoon so that campers can have enough time to evacuate before flooding.

The information can also be shared with friends and family through social networking tools such as KakaoTalk and Facebook.

For example, family members who will meet in a riverside park for the night’s camping can send and receive location information with a map with each other, saving lengthy talk on the phone to explain how to get there.
