SEOUL, April 7 (Korea Bizwire) — Almost half of all Seoulites in their 20s and 30s are exposed to a considerable level of stress due to relationships or personal finances. Those who are struggling with employment were more likely to be getting less sleep.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government conducted a survey of 14,000 city residents between 20 and 30 years of age, which revealed that they sleep an average of 6 hours and 49 minutes per day.
Those struggling with employment tended to sleep fewer hours. Paid interns, for instance, slept an average of 6 hours and 7 minutes. Regular employees slept an average of 6 hours and 44 minutes.
Almost half of those in their 20s and 30s (46.6 percent) were experiencing a certain level of stress, mostly due to relationships (23 percent), personal finances (22.7 percent) and excessive workload and studies (22.2 percent).
The city government reported that as of last year, there were a total of 2.86 million Seoulites in their 20s and 30s with more women (1.46 million) than men (1.40 million), making up 30.1 percent of Seoul’s entire population.
