Seoul’s Nowon District Offers Doggy Daycare for Lunar New Year

SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Korea Bizwire)Seoul’s Nowon District announced on Wednesday that it will open up a pet lounge for families who have to leave their pets behind over the Korean Lunar New Year holiday.

The pet lounge will be located on the second floor of the Nowon District Office and will open from 9 a.m. on February 4 until 6 p.m. on February 6.

If a pet becomes ill or gets injured, it will immediately be sent to an affiliated veterinary clinic for treatment.

The pet lounge will include playing fields, fences, and mats. The lounge will accommodate a maximum of 20 pets (one pet per household).

Only small-sized dogs over four months old, properly registered and vaccinated against rabies will be accepted.

The fee is 5,000 won (US$4.47), regardless of the duration of stay. Applicants should register at a nearby administration center or health and sanitation department at the District Office.

Priority will be given to households who adopted abandoned dogs.
