Sinan’s Purple Islands Attract Attention Abroad

SINAN, Nov. 16 (Korea Bizwire)The Purple Islands in Sinan County, located in about 400 kilometers southwest of Seoul, are becoming a popular tourist destination worldwide.

Banwol and Park-Ji Islands are two small islands located off the coast of Anjwa Island, and have recently been dubbed the ‘Purple Islands’ by the county.

The county began renovating the islands two years ago when they were not yet known to tourists.

Roofs, bridges, roads, and even plants have been colored in purple. The islands plan to provide purple clothes and tools to residents.

The purple islands have been introduced on Facebook by a famous Hong Kong travel magazine that is followed by approximately 1.8 million people, as well as on a satellite television program watched by German viewers.

The county expects that the islands will attract more than 1,000 visitors each day, with 100,000 people visiting in accumulated numbers.
