SEOUL, May 31 (Korea Bizwire) — SK Telecom Co. said Tuesday it will collaborate with Samsung Electronics Co. to release an entry-level smartphone called the Galaxy Quantum 4.
The Galaxy Quantum 4 is the fourth model in SK Telecom’s Quantum series of quantum smartphones and is equipped with quantum random number generator (QRNG) chipset.
The QRNG chip, developed by SK Telecom’s Switzerland-based subsidiary ID Quantique, generates random numbers based on quantum crypto technology, which creates strong keys that are not biased and cannot be predicted, thus strengthening the security of data transmission.
The phone’s camera features optical image stabilization (OIS) and Samsung’s advanced Night Mode. It adopts a waterdrop camera and rear glass design, similar to Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S23.
Moreover, the phone is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance, capable of staying underwater at a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. It also comes with a large-capacity 5,000 mAh battery.
