SEOUL, Sept. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government held the so-called space-out contest on Sunday after a three-year hiatus resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
On a hot and sunny afternoon, many Seoul citizens gathered around Jamsu Bridge, where the competition was being held.
Among 3,800 people who applied to participate in the competition, a total of 50 teams, including high school students, small business owners and police officers were selected to join the competition.
To select the winner, the event organizer measures each participant’s heart rate, and people vote on who is the most spaced out.
The competition lasted for about 90 minutes, with some participants giving up midway due to the strong late summer heat.
The winner of the competition was Kim Myeong-yeop, a 31-year-old man who wore the uniform of the professional baseball team Hanwha Eagles during the competition.
