SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Korea Bizwire)South Korea’s spy agency said Friday it is open to the possibility that two children recently seen alongside North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s sister could be her offspring and is currently analyzing the matter.

A video of North Korea’s new year art performance, aired by Korean Central Television on Wednesday, showed Kim Yo-jong, the North Korean leader’s powerful sister, walking outside the event venue, holding the hand of a boy, with a girl next to her.

The image sparked speculations that they may be her children.

A precise analysis is under way with the possibility “open that the children could be Kim Yo-jong’s,” given “the already detected ages of her offspring,” the National Intelligence Service (NIS) told Yonhap News Agency.

On Thursday, an official at the unification ministry said the new year art performance in North Korea was an event meant to be accompanied by family. The North Korean leader attended the performance with his daughter, known to be named Ju-ae.

In April 2015, the NIS reported that Kim Yo-jong was presumed to be giving birth the following month. Later in 2018, a government source said Kim was pregnant during her visit to South Korea in February of that year for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

However, no official information has confirmed her marital status, pregnancies or childbirths.
