SEOUL, Jun. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich, both featuring South Korean stars, will hold an open training session in Seoul before playing in exhibition matches in the South Korean capital this summer, the event’s organizers said Monday.
South Korean streaming service Coupang Play said Tottenham will hold its session at Seoul World Cup Stadium at 6 p.m. on July 30, the eve of its preseason match against Team K League, made up of stars from the South Korean league, at the same venue.
Team K League will have its session at 7:30 p.m. on July 30.
Then at 6 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the same stadium, Bayern Munich will have their open training session. It will be the day before their match against Tottenham, also at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Spurs are captained by South Korean superstar Son Heung-min, while Bayern feature South Korean defender and national team mainstay Kim Min-jae.
These three summer matches will make up the third edition of the “Coupang Play Series,” which has brought European clubs for preseason matches here. This is Tottenham’s second trip to South Korea and Bayern’s first.
Tickets for open training sessions and matches will go on sale on Coupang Play’s website at 8 p.m. on June 28 and will only be open to Coupang WOW members. Those who purchase tickets for premium seats for either of the matches will have free access to the training session for the match that they’re attending.
