SEOUL, Sept. 13 (Korea Bizwire) – Virtual animals are appearing as models with the popularity of virtual humans and influencers rising as a new online trend.
LF, the apparel affiliate of LG Group, introduced a virtual cat in its video advertisement for Athe.
The ad introduces Athe as a brand that develops vegan cosmetics that don’t use any animal products. It also says that Athe never engages in any animal experiments.
LF decided to introduce a virtual cat, instead of a real one, considering that the majority of vegan consumers are in their 20s and 30s, most of whom are also animal enthusiasts, and would find it uncomfortable to see real cats exposed to a stressful environment like shooting an advertisement over several hours.
The company also considered the fact that many young consumers are offended by online trends forcing animals to come up with cute expressions or behaviors.
It is more costly to use 3D technology to create a virtual animal than to use a real one, LF said.
