“10 Cups of Green Tea a Day Will Delay Cancer Onset”…Dr. Fujiki

“Anyone drinking ten cups of green tea every day for a long time can delay onset of cancer for up to seven years. For men who drank ten cups of tea (120 ml per cup) for ten years, an average of 7.3 years of cancer occurrence was delayed. For women, the same effect was observed to be an average of 3.2 years.”

“In a clinical study conducted in 2008, I found the recurrence rate of colorectal adenomas for those patients who underwent endoscopic polypectomy whom I prescribed drinking 1.5 grams of green tea extract every day for one year was lowered by 51.6 percent from the control group. Green tea in combination with anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer drugs can work effectively in keeping tumor growth at bay.”

SEOUL, Dec 14 (Korea Bizwire) – In an international conference held on December 13 at Seoul National University by the Korean Society of Cancer Prevention, Hirota Fujiki, the former president of the Saitama Cancer Center Research Institute, introduced his research findings on the effectiveness of green tea on cancer prevention. Dr. Fujiki is a renowned scholar in researching the mechanism of green tea’s cancer prevention properties.

As to a question why it has to be ten cups a day as the minimum intake of green tea, Dr. Fujiki answered, “The amount of catechins in ten cups of green tea are considered the minimum intake volume effective for preventing cancer for the general population.”

As for the effectiveness of green tea on colorectal cancer prevention, he said, “By injecting sulindac, anti-inflammatory drug, combined with green tea extract on a group of mice with colorectal cancer, the occurrence of cancer has been suppressed to a significant degree.”

In an experiment related to human lung cancer cell strains, he reported, the ratio of cancer cell destruction was 8.6 times higher when injecting anti-inflammatory drug parallel with green tea extract than anti-inflammatory drug alone.

Also in a clinical study conducted in 2008, he added, the recurrence rate of colorectal adenomas for those patients who underwent endoscopic polypectomy whom he prescribed drinking 1.5 grams of green tea extract every day for one year was lowered by 51.6 percent from the control group.

That means green tea in combination with anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer drugs can work effectively in keeping tumor from growing further.
