SEOUL, Sept. 30 (Korea Bizwire) – The age limit of boys who can enter a women’s sauna will be lowered to four years old.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on Sunday that a new amendment carrying new restrictions for a boy’s entrance to a women’s sauna will soon take effect.
Currently, boys who are five years old or under are allowed to enter a women’s sauna. The new amendment will lower the age limit to four years old.
The new restriction reflects views from the sauna industry that the improving growth span of male children has been leading to higher number of complaints.
Changing the age limit for entering a sauna set aside for the opposite gender is a rather tricky task since it involves the interest of single mothers, pregnant women, double breadwinners, single-parent households and other views from various age groups.
The new restriction will take effect in 2021.
